How to Play GuessKar
Welcome to the ultimate drawing and guessing game! Whether you are a professional artist or you can barely draw a stick figure, GuessKar is designed for everyone. This comprehensive guide will teach you exactly how to play, how to score points, and how to master the digital canvas.
1. The Basics of the Game
GuessKar is a multiplayer game where players take turns drawing a secret word while everyone else tries to guess it. A standard game consists of multiple rounds. During a round, one player is designated as the "Artist" while all other players are "Guessers". The roles rotate so everyone gets a chance to draw and guess.
2. If You Are the Artist (Drawing)
When it is your turn to draw, the game will present you with a secret word. Your goal is to visually represent this word on the canvas so that the other players can guess it before the timer runs out.
- Use the Tool Palette: At the bottom or side of your screen, you will see a color palette and various brush sizes. Use these to add detail to your drawing. A well-colored drawing is often much easier to guess!
- No Letters or Numbers: The golden rule of GuessKar is that you cannot write the word out. Writing letters or numbers ruins the fun and can result in other players voting to kick you from the room.
- Clear the Canvas: If you make a mistake, don't panic! You can use the undo button to remove your last brush stroke, or the trash can icon to completely clear the canvas and start over.
3. If You Are the Guesser
When someone else is drawing, your job is to figure out what the secret word is as fast as humanly possible.
- Type in the Chat: Type your guesses directly into the game's chat box. If your guess is completely wrong, it will appear as a normal chat message for everyone to see.
- Close Guesses: If your guess is very close to the actual word (perhaps off by just one letter due to a typo), the game will discreetly alert you that you are close! Use this feedback to quickly correct your spelling.
- Correct Guesses: When you guess the exact word, the game will hide your message from the other players who haven't guessed it yet. You will be awarded points based on how quickly you solved the puzzle.
4. How Scoring Works
Points are the key to winning the game. The scoring system rewards both speed and clarity:
- Fast Guesses: The faster you guess the word after the artist starts drawing, the more points you receive. The maximum points slowly tick down as the timer decreases.
- Artist Points: If you are the artist, you also earn points! You get points for every player that successfully guesses your drawing. The more people who guess it, the more points you earn, which encourages you to draw clearly rather than trying to trick people.
5. Advanced Tips and Tricks
Want to dominate the leaderboard? Keep these advanced strategies in mind:
Break it down: If the word is complex (like "Firefighter"), try drawing the component parts. Draw a fire, then draw a person with a hose. Combining simple concepts is often easier than trying to draw a highly detailed scene.
Use Arrows: If your drawing has a lot going on, use an arrow to point exactly to the specific object the players should be guessing. If you draw a face but the word is "Nose", an arrow pointing to the nose is crucial.
